How we handle wedding information.
This notice explains how BigDayPlay uses wedding host and guest information.
Who is responsible
BigDayPlay’s legal entity is being confirmed before launch. Contact us through support about this notice or your information.
What we collect
Hosts provide an email address, wedding details, setup choices and payment information handled by Stripe. Guests can provide a name or group name, activity answers, scores and photos they choose to submit. We also process limited technical information needed to keep the service secure and reliable.
Why we use it
We use this information to provide the wedding service requested by a host, process payment, let guests take part, show the host their results and photo collection, prevent abuse, and respond to support or removal requests. Our selected lawful bases and legitimate-interests assessment are recorded internally and are reviewed by the controller.
Wedding access, names and photos
A wedding link lets people join that wedding without creating an account. Guest entries are anonymous and stay on the device used to join. If the host enables the leaderboard, a guest's chosen name and points are visible to people using that wedding link. Photos are stored privately and are available only to the host; BigDayPlay does not provide a guest-visible gallery.
Guests can contribute until the end of the seventh calendar day after the wedding. Hosts can view and download their private archive for one year after the wedding, after which we send reminders before permanent deletion.
Providers and transfers
We use specialist providers to run the service: Supabase for authentication, database and storage; Stripe for payments; Vercel for hosting; Resend for lifecycle emails; Fly for private media processing; and Umami for privacy-conscious public marketing analytics. Providers may process information outside the UK. We review provider data-processing terms and use the appropriate international-transfer safeguards where required. We do not sell personal information.
Your choices and requests
You can ask for access to or deletion of your personal information, or request removal of a submitted photo, through support. Give enough information to identify the wedding and item safely. We will respond within the applicable legal timeframe. You may also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office.
